HYDRANGEA
ORCHIDS
ANTHERIUM
HELLEBORUS

Processing these flower varieties correctly will make all the difference in how they perform for you.  Start by removing excess foliage. These flower varieties do best when FULLY submerged in room temperature water for 20 minutes.  When the time has lapsed shake off the extra water and give the ends a fresh 1 to 2 inch cut.  Hydrangea prefers to have high levels of water in the bucket.  Change the water when it becomes cloudy.

FERNS
SALAL/LEMON
TROPICAL GREENERY

Process normally, but remember all ferns, salal, and tropical greens love moisture!  It's best to heavily mist these bunches.  When the bunches are damp place a bag over the bucket to keep the humidity levels high.  Do not store in the sun.  Remove the bag once you are ready to design with your product.

OR, you could place the greens directly into a bag and mist heavily.  Tie off the end of the bag until you are ready to use!

DAHLIAS
MILKWEEDS
POPPIES
HELLEBORUS

Some flower varieties like dahlias, milkweeds, and poppies should not be cut unless you can cauterize the ends of the stems with fire or boiling water.

Use fire to gently burn the ends of the stems after cutting 1 to 2 inches and place directly into 3 inches of water.

OR, use boiling water to cauterize the ends by placing 1 to 2 inches of the stems in boiling water AFTER they have been cut.  Replace the dirty water used for boiling with 3 inches of clean water.

This extra process will extend the life of these flower varieties.

Remember to remove excess foliage that may fall into the water before conditioning and replace water every 2 to 3 days.

MOST OTHER
VARIETIES

Most flower varieties only need a little love to last.  When preparing your flowers for design remove any excess foliage that could be sitting in the water then give them a fresh 1 to 2 inch cut and place them into 3 inches of water.  Change the water once every 2 to 3 days with another fresh cut.  Please keep in mind that cutting the stems does force blooms to open so if you prefer tighter buds do not give the flowers a second cut.  Flower food could be utilized if desired.

FLOWER CARE

We LOVE flowers!  We love them so much that we strive to carry only the best quality and variety available to you!

We have a 24 hour guarantee.  Please keep in mind that nature designed flowers to be unique.  Not all flower varieties have the same lifespan once bloomed and not all flower varieties require the same kind of processing to extend their vase-life once they are in your home.  Our job is to make sure you have the freshest and widest selection of flowers in the North Bay and Wine Country to choose from.  If you don't have the time to give them a little extra love we HIGHLY recommend you purchase flowers through your retail florist who can pre-condition and design flowers for you.

As a wholesale flower market we take pride in what we do!
